Short films | Benin 2024
A series of short films created in close collaboration with artists and communities in the coastal village of Grand-Popo, Benin. These films explore the spiritual, social, and traditional dimensions of the village through visual storytelling, involving local youth groups, women’s cooperatives, the disability community, youth, and artists.

Unfolding on the beach and streets of Benin. a heartfelt letter from a mother to her future daughter expresses the challenges and joys of growing up as a woman. Through song and dance, a tribe of women dispel fairy tales myths to center embodied values of feminine power: strength, independence, and self-worth. Their rebellious spirits find freedom and joy through the rhythms of their bodies as hands clap, shoulders shake, hips swirl, and feet stomp out of their bold dreams of womanhood.

And in every heartbeat of this vast continent, there is a call to unity, a call to peace, a call to remember that we are one. One continent. One people. One destiny.
We are bound together by a common history, one that has been marked by both the scars of struggle and the triumphs of courage. It is a history that reminds us that our destinies are intertwined, that the success of one is the success of all, and that our greatest strength is found in our collective resolve.
'Africa' a heartfelt tribute to the African continent, emphasizing unity, peace, and the shared identity of its people.
