Cinematic Essay | Morocco 2024 | 71’ | French, Amazigh, English, German
An ancient ritual from the edge of the Sahara guards another non-binary [not based on the tertium non datur / bivalence principle, three- to four-dimensional] 'knowledge' of the shared, connecting, third between the polarities. This could be the key to a dialog between cultures that have become "incommensurable".
Every village here, at the foot of the southern Moroccan Atlas, has its own Ahwach ('dance of the community' in the language of those who have called themselves Imazighen, 'the free', for the last 2500 years) - and yet they all speak, sing and dance of the one and the same thing.

Four people convey their relationships with personal memories and contemporary environments, thereby exploring the shared space and time in which we exist.
In those vacant architectural or spatial settings, although the subjectivity of individuals may be replaced, what remains is the presence of human beings and their constant questioning. Self and reality, memory and dreams, space and time intersect here and mutually define each other.
